Some sewing tasks are repetitive, and many times the tools available are not very efficient.
After spending some time trying to hem a long curtain seam, I felt that all the measuring and pinning was driving me nuts. I created a rough draft of a tool to help me complete this task much quicker.
You can download the new and improved, fully-refined FREE version (as a .PDF file) as the SewingDude Hem Guide.
Print it, out making sure the “page scaling” is set to “off” or “none”, or the measurements will be off!
You must make sure your PDF program does not “scale” the image when printed!
I used plain paper for an earlier version, then covered it in cellophane tape. You could also use a laminator, or print directly onto thick card stock like the yellow sheet shown here.
Be sure to reinforce all edges, as they take the most abuse.
To use, simply fold over and iron, or pin, the fabric prior to stitching. The corner gauge allows you to use it for curved seams like necklines.
As always, if you’re not satisfied, we will happily refund double your money back!
